The Hippie Baker Baixada Fonte Vigo 7th September 2022

The weather on our arrival in Vigo on a cruise was grim, overcast and drizzly, but when I saw this sign just a short walk from the cruise terminal, it was like the sun came out and my mood lifted.

The Hippie Baker is a tranquil oasis of calm just off the main road, with everything made on site and we luckily managed to find a free table to have coffee and cake.

There was a selection of cakes, cookies, pastries, savouries and breakfast like avocado or peanut butter and jam on homemade sourdough.

We chose a cinnamon bun for Steven and a nut and chocolate cookie for me, with two black coffees and sat in the relaxing atmosphere, enjoying every mouthful.   The sweet treats were scrumptious and the coffee had a proper caffeine kick and was a perfect mid morning snack.

We visited Vigo on another cruise on the 16th April 2023 and headed straight to The Hippie Baker for breakfast.

The tostada with avocado, tomato and chilli flakes on homemade sourdough was divine, literally the best ever, it was absolutely delicious and we did not want to finish it was that good.

We bought a cinnamon roll and blueberry, lemon curd and almond bun to takeaway and ate them later, after a wander around the castle.   It was the best cinnamon roll I have ever eaten, it was so light, moist and delicious, as was the blueberry bun, we licked our fingers and thought how lucky we were to find The Hippie Baker.

If you are ever visiting Vigo definitely give The Hippie Baker a visit, you will not regret it, its a fabulous vegan oasis in a vegan desert.
