I love Ambleside Manor (read my last review here) and with Covid restrictions in place until the 17th May for hospitality, they recently opened the tea garden in the beautiful grounds surrounding the hotel.
Ambleside Manor is on the road into Ambleside approaching from the Waterhead direction, a five minute walk to town and set back from the road in large gardens, making for a quiet location.
The menu has a good selection of vegan options, although limited on the cake front, with only a vegan flapjack on offer, which hopefully they will address, but bonus points for labelling their wines and beers.
I chose a rather nice glass of Picpoul de Pinet and some sparkling water and sat back to relax and enjoy the tranquility whilst perusing the menu.
I chose avocado panzanella salad to share with Steven, which was a delicious light starter, with an olive oil dressing and well seasoned.
Steven chose the falafel, houmous, tomato chutney and spinach panini, with the avocado, roast red pepper, rocket and pine nut panini for me.
The paninis were beautifully presented and good sized portions, with scrumptious fillings and a small side salad, absolutely perfect for lunch.
I loved everything about the tea garden, away from the hustle bustle of the town centre on a busy Saturday afternoon, for a refined and peaceful lunch. Highly recommended.
