Ginny's Teapot Main Street The Square Hawkshead 18th April 2021

Ginny's Teapot named after Ginny the cat rescued by the owners, is a vintage vegetarian tearoom serving vegan options, including a good selection of cakes.   On a long walk round Tarn Hows Ginny's Teapot was the perfect spot for lunch and as we were early, there were plenty free tables in the courtyard.

The menu was not as extensive as usual, obviously due to Covid restrictions, but plenty vegan options to choose from, with a specials board inside.

We chose two Earl Grey teas with oat milk and two jacket potatoes with houmous and roast vegetables, although this was Steven's second choice, as the vegetable stew he wanted was sold out.   There was quite a wait, but when they arrived it was worth it, as the vegetables were obviously cooked to order.   It was one of the best jacket potatoes ever, just how I like it, a good sized potato, loads of houmous and fresh perfectly cooked vegetables.   We devoured every morsel and I could have easily licked the plate.

We were too full for cake and in hindsight I should have bought a piece to takeaway, but I intend to visit again just for coffee and cake.   Highly recommended.
