Simple Goodness Devonshire Arcade Penrith 11th June 2021

Simple Goodness was recommended by my friend Julie and is owned by Laszlo and Kriszti, who are passionate about food, health and the planet and take every care to ensure their carbon footprint is kept to a minimum.   They use eco friendly takeaway packaging, plastic free teabags, make plant milks to avoid Tetra Pak cartons, use LED lights and more.   We felt right at home as soon as we stepped through the door, with a warm and friendly welcome and made our way to a table.

Simple Goodness has a lovely sounding menu, with daily changing specials and I was drooling reading it.

In addition to the menu, there was a display counter with delicious looking salads, cakes and cookies many of them low gluten, so lots to choose from.

We were given complimentary mini soups to whet our appetite, whilst perusing the menu and make the hard choice of what to eat.

We went for the daily special jackfruit stew for Steven, sweetcorn and courgette fritters for me, a green tea and an organic herb tea, made in house in these lovely plastic free teabags.

The food was scrumptious, freshly made to order satisfying wholefood dishes and we loved it, leaving clean plates.   The cake selection was too tempting, so we ordered a hazelnut chocolate cookie, peanut butter brownie and two Americano coffees.

The photos speak for themselves, these were indulgent mouth watering sweet treats and the coffee was excellent too, it was a perfect end to a perfect lunch.

Laszlo and Kriszti are a lovely couple, who do their utmost to look after their customers every need and Simple Goodness is a gem of a place.   If I lived locally I would never be away, so if you are ever heading Penrith way, make a detour and visit Simple Goodness, you will not be disappointed.   Highly recommended.
