Urban & Veggie Obala Stjepana Radića 13 Dubrovnik 18th October 2019

Urban & Veggie is a vegetarian cafe owned by Ivo Dadic, a competitive vegan triathlete who leads cycling and hiking tour groups.   He is proud to use local suppliers and as much organic product as possible, so Urban & Veggie was a perfect stop for lunch, especially as it was a stones throw from where our cruise ship docked.

The interior is modern and cool with lots of stone work and wood and plenty of seating in the window or you could sit out in the large courtyard at the back.

We ordered trio of spreads with cucumber and homemade bread sticks, although I was unable to eat the beetroot as it contained soya, which rather pleased Steven.  The dish when it arrived was a rainbow of colour and did not disappoint on flavour, what a cracking dish, we demolished every morsel.

We ordered anthracite mushroom risotto, made with coconut milk not oat milk as described on the menu, was a picture on a plate and scrumptious and although Steven is not a huge risotto fan, it got the thumbs up and we left clean plates.

We were full so although the desserts sounded very tempting, we decided against it, especially as we had been eating so many sweet treats on our cruise.

Urban and Veggie has only been open a few months, but there was a steady stream of people coming and going, which is always a good sign.   Highly recommended.
