Pintura The Trinity Leeds 13th October 2017

Pintura means Work of Art in Spanish and they offer dishes influenced by the Basque region, after head chef Greg Lewis travelled the area for inspiration.   I enquired about my vegan diet with allergies and received a really positive reply from Ella, who liased with Greg, who could offer the dishes below adapted where necessary.

I kicked off with a very nice glass of La Guita En Rama sherry, gordal olives without the vermouth gel, biscay mix and pan con tomate.   The waiter looking after us, was well aware of my dietary requirement and allergies, so a big thumbs up, the number of places I go and it is like I never gave notice.

Main course was patatas bravas and Herencia Zanahoria, which Google translates as Carrot Inheritance, with Marcona almond and piquillo pepper pesto.

I loved both dishes, freshly cooked to order, well seasoned and full of flavour, the patatas bravas was one of the best renditions I have eaten and the carrot I enjoyed so much, I shall try to replicate.

I was most impressed with Pintura, I loved their attention and care taken with, not only my diet but my allergies and would definitely return, as the superfood paella sounds excellent.
